Cubs Weekly Summary – 6th November 2018

Weekly Summary

Firework night was a success again, an excellent display and a great turn out from Beavers Cubs and Scouts.  We also raised over £100 forLondon Neonatal Transfer Service, many thanks for all your donations!

We also had an excellent turn out from Beavers, Cubs and Scouts or the poppy appeal yesterday.  Everyone was well behaved and we met some lovely people throughout the day, including an ex-RAF pilot.  We had several very heavy collection tins, so we are hoping to have raised more than last year.  We will share details when the funds are confirmed.

We published a photo gallery for the poppy appeal here – http://52efsscouts.org.uk/galleries/2018-poppy-appeal/

Next week

Next week we will continue to focus on the poppy appeal, the Cubs will practise sewing by making poppies.

Poppy Appeal

Date: 10th November, 10:00-17:00

Location: George Lane, Woodford

This is a  fund raiser by all sections of the 52nd EFS Scout group (Beaver, Cub and Scout) for the British Legion accompanied by parents/carers/friends – please note that you may have to accompany your own child as we will not have enough leaders to safeguard your Scout (as we need 2 adults per group).

We shall be handing out special Scout Poppy badges to all who participate (at our section meetings after).
Scouts may wear this with pride on their sleeves -sew on the same side as activity and stage badges.

Please do your good deed for the day by helping with the Poppy appeal. Meet between the Boots/M&S shop at the time that you have put down and for the duration.( 1hour, 2 hours etc…) then hand over to the next set of parents/children when they come. Please also be patient and respectful with each other as sometimes journeys may be delayed.

Your Scout will be in FULL SMART UNIFORM at South Woodford public shopping area with your parents/their friends, collecting for the Poppy appeal. You can walk up and down the high street or stay still but will always meet around the boots/M&S area
